My name is Samantha and I am the founder and owner of Step by Step Dog Training, based in Southampton, Hampshire.
I first became interested in training when I bought home my first dog, an English Springer Spaniel puppy called Dot, who is now fourteen years young, although it was when I rehomed my first rescue dog, Cricket that I truely caught the training bug!
I am now lucky enough to share my life with five dogs, three of who are rescues and we enjoy a wide range of activities including clicker and trick training.
I have always been interested in canine behaviour and psychology and after making the decision to change career, I chose to study with the ISCP (International School of Canine Psychology) where I gained my diploma in August 2016.
The ISCP only educates students using the most up to date scientific methods, that are all based on positive training and offers continued personal development in the form of workshops and seminars after grauation.
Whilst studying for my diploma, I have gained experience with working in a class enviroment, assisting with puppy classes through to advanced as well as working with dogs on a one to one basis.
I feel that it is essential to pursue continued education and regularly attend seminars and webinars for my own continued personal development. I am also very proud to be a full professional member of The Association of INTO Dogs, a members only organisation for professionals, promoting positive, kind training methods.
I am fully insured through Petplan and hold a certificate in canine first aid through Animal Aiders.
